Measure square footage from a PDF floor plan

Open the PDF, set the scale, and click the corners of each room. Areas, perimeters and wall lengths are exact to the plan, snapped to its own lines.

Three steps

  • Open a PDF, PNG or JPG plan — or choose just the sheets you need from a large set.
  • Set the scale from the printed scale or a known dimension, then verify it against another dimension.
  • Click each room's corners. Rectangles, L-shapes, curved walls, cutouts for columns and rooms on any angle all work.

Exact, not approximate

  • Corners snap to the drawing's endpoints, wall lines and crossings, and straight lines ease onto 45° and 90°.
  • Type a length to place the next corner exactly.
  • Different scales on one sheet (details at another scale) are handled with their own calibration.
  • Lengths in feet-inches to 1/16", decimal feet, inches or meters; areas in square feet (square yards for carpet).

Questions

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Yes. Scanned and image plans can be measured; vector PDFs also give snapping to the plan's lines.

Is my plan uploaded?

Not unless you save it to the cloud. Without an account, the plan stays in your browser.
